Meta Quest Pro Announced, Costs 3 PS5s

Facebook has officially launched Meta Quest Pro, the more expensive sibling to the Meta Quest 2 (fomerly known as Oculus Quest 2), and released the full list of specs for the device. Meta Quest Pro will cost $1,500 and will ship starting October 25. Preorders are open now.

With a price tag like that, it's clear Meta is targeting businesses with the Meta Quest Pro and the official tech spec descriptions indicate that as well.

Meta Quest Pro has four times the resolution compared to Quest 2, and supports augmented reality--which means users can "create and collaborate in the virtual world while staying present in the physical world," according to Meta.

Compared to Quest 2, the Meta Quest Pro's optic stack is slimmer by 40% and provides more vibrant colors. As for hardware, the Quest Pro has "10 advanced VR/MR sensors, spatial audio, 256GB storage, 12GB RAM, and a Snapdragon XR2+ processor."

The Meta Quest Touch Pro controllers have three cameras and a Snapdragon 662 mobile processor, as well as haptic feedback. This means you don't need the headset for tracking, as the controllers have their own set of sensors.

There is backwards compatibility and Meta Quest Pro users can access any Meta Quest 2 catalog items.

In related news, during the same Meta Connect event, Meta also announced that Xbox Game Pass is coming to Meta Quest 2 via cloud gaming.
