The Fire Emblem: Three Houses DLC Cindered Shadows is now available, adding a new story featuring four new characters who can be recruited into your house. The "Ashen Wolves" characters can be recruited throughout the first part of the game, and will remain in your house through the second.
To start the new content, you'll have to select the Side Story option from the title screen and choose from Normal or Hard mode. Your Cindered Shadows save will be separate, including a separate autosave. As you progress through the Side Story content, the characters will become recruitable in the monastery in the main campaign, and you'll also find a new "Shifty Merchant" near your personal quarters. You'll also notice new quests and paralogues related to the new characters, a new costume for Anna, and breed names for the dogs and cats hanging around the monastery.
The DLC comes alongside the 1.2.0 update, which adds a few extra bells, whistles, and bug fixes of its own for all players regardless of whether you own the DLC. You can now select the Dancer Ensemble costume for Byleth, and you have more flexibility for changing appearances in general. You can do it from the Activity Selection screen on days off and mission days, instead of just in your personal quarters. You can also change the appearance of all your characters simultaneously. Plus you can have tea time with Rhea.
